Wednesday June 12, we’ll have a very special guest speaker: Rev. Sean Carroll, the Executive Director of “Kino Border Initiative” a bi-national organization made up of Catholic groups on both sides of the border providing humanitarian relief to migrants, social and pastoral support, and participation in immigration reform.
I will print and distribute Wednesday Rev. Carroll’s written testimony submitted to the House of Representatives, Ad-hoc Committee Hearing regarding “Failures to Preserve Family Unity in the Context of Immigration Enforcement at the Border and Beyond” in April ‘13.
Since Rev Carroll will travel from Nogales for our meeting, we plan on starting a little early.
So… be there at 6 o’clock, THE PROGRAM WILL START AT 6:30 SHARP.
Our guest speaker is Dr. Sylvia Lee, Pima Community College Governing Board member.
Dr. Lee is the only Board member not targeted by a recent recall effort voted by The PCC Faculty Senate and Staff Council and supported by SALC.
In April, Pima Community College was placed on probation by a national accrediting body, the Higher Learning Commission.
